gARTget invites visitors to discover the connections between art works and other non-linear content in a playful, intuitive way.
Digitalized art education with gARTget allows a historical-processual positioning that can itself be curated by the museum and browsed into depth by the visitor.
The visitor can re-live the world and influence of an artist in the moment when a particular artwork was created and hereby understand the point of view of the artist. This approach to art education has been analogically tested and implemented by Reina Sofia Museum and MOMA.
General
gARTget is the first app based promotion system for the presentation and arbitration of contemporary art. It can of course be used for the visualization of any kinds of non-linear information patterns.
Scientists have observed in highly talented individuals that the best way to learn is to do so while playing and having fun. This is the principle gARTget is based upon. It's fun to use and playfully leads to a better understanding of complex meanings.
Functionality
Curators provide the visitors with a preselected network of information around a particular exhibit. These are entered and saved using a content management system.
Visitors download the free App gARTget and log into the local WI-FI. The information cosmos around one particular exhibit is presented much like a neuronal network with the artwork in its center. By tapping the different nodes of the structure, bits of information appear (e.g. pictures, videos, audio-files, text or web content). By browsing through the grid, the visitor can create his own point of view while exploring a hermeneutic cosmology of pieces of art.
